Today’s Success Story: Yolo Intel
Yolo Intel was founded more than 4 years ago by Yolanda Edwards, who is from Brooklyn.
Revenue- $20K/month or $240K/year
Subscribers- Over 62,000 (with 1000s of paid subscribers)
I'm Yolanda Edwards, a magazine editor from New York, who specializes in travel. I've worked at magazines like Condé Nast Traveler and Cookie and have learned the best travel advice comes from well-traveled people with good taste.
I started Yolo Journal, a quarterly print magazine, because I love photography, travel, and collecting great ideas. But people kept messaging me for personal travel advice, like recommendations on places I've been, food, and packing tips. They wanted advice that wasn't overwhelming like a typical city guide and that focused on the emotional side of travel.
So, I created Yolo Intel on Substack to answer their questions and share insights and ideas from myself and other creative and curious travelers. Yolo Intel is a platform for personalized travel advice that connects with the emotional and experiential aspects of travel.
